초록/요약
The purpose of this study was to investigate to the extent to which one's level of language competence and geographical position impact the English language learning process in Korean and Russian context. Specifically, this study examined which cultural features were evident in the language acquisition process and how they influenced the learning process and to the intercultural sensitivity level. In the methodology part was used a mixed-methods research design, incorporating Intercultural Sensitivity Scale (Chen&Starosta) student survey, language proficiency test, and analysis. Intercultural Sensitivity Scale was modified and translated on Korean and Russian languages for user-friendly as possible. Language Proficiency Test was based on Standard Level Cambridge Test and also was adapted to the time foreseen. The results of this study showed that geographic location can influence cultural competency but at the same time, a high level of language competency does not guarantee a high level of cultural sensitivity.

Целью данного исследования было выяснить как уровень владения иностранным языком(английским) может влиять на межкультурную чувствительность. Эксперимент был проведён среди русских, татарских и корейских студентов. В практической части были использованы два вида тестов: тест на выявление межкультурной чувствительности Старосты и Чен и тест на знание английского языка. Тест на выявление межкультурной чувствительности был переведён на языки студентов, на корейский и русский, для более удобного и точного использования. Тест на выявление уровня иностранного языка был смоделирован на основе Стандартного Кембриджского теста по английскому языку для иностранных студентов. Результаты исследования показали, что уровень владения языком не влияет на межкультурную чувствительность.

이 논문의 목적은 한국과 러시아 상황에서 언어실력과 지리적 위치가 언어 학습과정에 미치는 영향을 연구하는 것이다. 특히 언어 습득 과정에서 어떤 문화 측면이 영향을 미 치는지 문화적 감수성과 언어 습득 간의 관계에 대해 중점 연구했다. 이 논문은 설문조사, 학습자의 시험 점수를 종합적으로 분석했다. 다문화 감수성지수는 한국과 러시아 학습자를 대상으로 하기 위해 번역과 적응의 과정을 거쳤다. 언어 시험은 켐브리지 표준 테스트를 기반으로 작성되었다. 이 연구의 결과 학습자의 언어실력이 문 화적 감수성에 반드시 영향을 미치는 것은 아니라는 점을 밝혔다.
